Ok, I haven't been blogging but I have a perfectly good excuse. Our best friend's daughter went into the hospital to have her baby. We were at the hospital from 2:00 in the afternoon until 1:00 a.m. the next morning (she had been there since midnight the night before). We went home as I had to get up and go to work. The doctors decided that after 24 hours of hard labor she wasn't having that baby unless it was by C-section. And perfect little Ashlyn Nicole was born at 2:10 a.m. We went up to visit the next night and I got to hold her for about 40 minutes while she slept. She is beautiful! So here is the photo my husband took while I held her. I think we are going to have a very fun summer with this new little one.

Oh my aching muscles. We laid sod yesterday in the front yard. I am so excited to get that done. Our lawn is shaping up! The rose bushes now have their own area and mulch is coming next. I hope to get some weeds pulled and maybe move a few things around in the back flower bed today. A friend let me dig up one of her columbine plants last night and I scored a bunch of seeds too. I can't wait to plant. They are beautiful. It's so nice to have a three day weekend. Once the garden projects are done it's back to the bead room. My best friend is coming in August for "Bead Camp" and everything has to be in order by then. This year I think we are going to play with soldered pendents. Laural is an art teacher and she thinks it would be fun to do with her kids. I think they would have a blast.

Finally some relief from the clutter

I have come to the realization that there's just too much stuff, lol. Bead stuff, fluff stuff, scrapbooking stuff, gourd stuff, and the ever popular, oh my god I just may need it someday stuff. I really need to let some of it go. And in fact I had the perfect opportunity today. An email went out asking for craft items for the Ukraine Orphan Outreach Summer Camp. I came straight home and cleaned out some beads and yarn. Off to work it goes tomorrow. Room for more stuff! And for all my twitter friends who wanted to see what I was up to I have uploaded some photos. Mostly of my lovely new cabinet of wonderfulness. The organization is coming along and I am forever grateful for my label maker. It's so much easier to find things when they are marked. With over 10 tic tac boxes of 11 seed beads alone plus the 14's, delicas, etc., I have to have them marked somehow. Tic tac boxes are the best containers ever! If you have any suggestions please feel free. I have more to go but feeling better all the time about it. Let me know what you think! Later.

It's Christmas in June!

Wow, cleaning out the bead room (hoping someday to call it a studio when it grows up). I have found treasures I totally forgot I had. I discovered a set of beads that were given to me but needed additional beads to string them up into a necklace. I have on two different occasions bought beads to go with them and squirreled them away. Now I have all three sets in one bag. I'll have to post an image once I actually make the necklace. Hopefully not another year from now, lol. So it's like Christmas in the bead room and I am distracted by bright shiny objects. Do you ever have that problem? Start to do one thing and then end up doing something else? Then there's all the yarn, gourd tools, and spinning fluff for needle felting yet to be dealt with. Help!
